Teen arrested for brazen jewellery store robbery in a Brampton mall, 2 suspects still at large

One person has been arrested in connection to a brazen theft at a jewellery store in Brampton yesterday evening. A video surfaced online showing the robbery in progress.

Peel police said that on November 8 at around 6:30 p.m., three suspects attended a jewellery store located in the shopping mall near Peel Centre Drive and Bramalea City Centre Drive in Brampton. The suspects wore disguises to conceal their identities and were armed with hammers. They demanded money and jewellery and smashed display cases, removing a significant quantity of merchandise.

Security officers attended the robbery in progress and intervened. One suspect was arrested at the scene, while the other two suspects fled on foot.

Thankfully no physical injuries were reported by store staff or security officers.

Evan Sosa-Reyes, an 18-year-old man from Brampton, has charged with robbery and wearing disguise.

He appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing today.

This is an ongoing investigation, and investigators anticipate they may lay further charges.
