Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot on Thursday laid foundation and also inaugurated projects in Tonk — the constituency he represents in the state Assembly — worth Rs 43 crore.
On his second day of visit to Tonk, Pilot also interacted with the people and took part in some programmes.
Addressing the people, Pilot said: “I have not come among you only to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development works. I have come to thank you for the development work done in your areas. The work that has been done has been possible only with your cooperation. When there is an atmosphere of love, brotherhood and harmony among the people of the area, development work happens at double the pace, investment increases and employment also increases.”
He further told people that “as elections are not far away, leaders of many political parties will come to you”.
“They will try to confuse you in the name of religion, caste, temple, mosque. We need to be cautious of such forces,” he said.
The Congress leader, tragetting the BJP, said: “What did the BJP give? Three anti-farmer black agricultural laws, Agniveer Yojana, which increased unemployment, GST, demonetisation, increasing unemployment, rampant inflation?”
He said that the BJP has created a deep gap between the rich and the poor due to its wrong economic policies.
He also participated in a programme organised by the District Advocates Association in Tonk District Court premises.
Pilot inspected various works, including the under construction Medical College building, Trauma Hospital in Tonk and gave the necessary directions.
He also held a meeting with the top officials of the Tonk administration at the Circuit House and sought a report on the progress of the work.
