Peel Region sex trade investigation leads to arrest of Brampton man and woman

A Brampton man and woman have been arrested and charged with human trafficking and prostitution-related offences.

On September 13, police began a complex investigation relating to victims involved in the sex trade within the Region of Peel. It is alleged that the accused and co-accused recruited and exploited victims into the sex trade while keeping their earnings from them.

Vice investigators conducted a proactive investigation, which resulted in locating victims being trafficked by the accused and co-accused.

Mohd Farhan (23) and Jagrutiben Bhatt (44) face several criminal charges including human trafficking, excercising control, receiving benefits resulting from trafficking in persons and
material benefit from sexual services.
