Brampton (Mar 20) – William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation) has announced that singer Sarbjit Cheema will headline their 11th annual Holi Gala which is presented by the BVD group.
Taking place on April 6 at Pearson Convention Center, officials said that Holi (Festival of Colours) Gala will raise funds to help transform Peel Memorial into Brampton’s new hospital, bring expanded cancer care services to Brampton Civic Hospital, and help ensure Etobicoke General Hospital has the resources needed to continue providing the specialized care the community needs.
“Holi Gala is the most highly-anticipated event of the year for many and we look forward to ushering in spring alongside returning supporters and new friends,” said the gala committee’s co-chairs Dr. Gurjit Bajwa and Pal Ghumman. “The dedicated volunteer steering committee has been working hard for several months to ensure another spectacular evening of dancing, food, celebration and music, all in support of local health care.”
Officials say that since its inception the Holi Gala has raised more than $7 million for Osler and health care for its rapidly growing, diverse community.
“The enthusiasm our community has for Holi Gala is matched only by their desire to make a positive impact,” stated Osler President and CEO Ken Mayhew. “The success of Holi Gala continues to be a testament to the sponsors and supporters who step forward year after year. It’s going to be another great night, with our sights set on raising $1 million to help fund priority needs across Osler, including building Brampton’s new hospital.”
In addition to a concert by Indian-Canadian singer Sarbjit Cheema, guests will be treated to high-energy dance performances, gourmet food and a cocktail reception sponsored by CIBC.
Members of the public are invited to participate in an online auction featuring fantastic items including a roundtrip flight for two anywhere WestJet flies, Mentor College Tuition Certificate, various Toronto Raptors Tickets and much more. The online auction will open March 28 at oslerauction.ca.
The Holi Gala has also attracted generous support from Dinner Sponsor: In N Out Carwash and Detailing Centre.
Limited sponsorship opportunities are still available, more information is available at holigala.ca.
“We are incredibly proud to be the presenting sponsor of Holi Gala for the third consecutive year,” said BVD Group President Bikram Dhillon. “The funds we raise will make a difference for all of us served by Osler and I encourage others to join us and support our hospitals. There’s more to be done and all of us working together can realize a bright future for community health care.”
