On Tuesday, August 29 a multi-jurisdictional team of investigators announced additional charges have been laid against Kenneth Law of Mississauga. As previously reported in May, the charges stem from an investigation involving the online sale and distribution of sodium nitrite.
The 57-year-old chef has been charged with 12 additional counts of counselling or aiding suicide in Ontario, according to a statement from Peel police. The dozen new counts stem from from Peel (1), Toronto (4), York (3), Durham (1), London (1), Thunder Bay (1) and Waterloo (1).
Law is currently being held in custody awaiting trial which has been traversed to the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket.
Police continue to appeal to the community to be vigilant of the online transactions and activity or the arrival of deliveries from any of the following companies – Imtime Cuisine, AmbuCA, Academic/ACademic, Escape Mode/ escMode and ICemac.
A few days earlier UK media reported that the National Crimes Agency (NCA) is investigating Canadian chef Kenneth Law police for 88 deaths linked to him in Britain.
An Interpol list of with details of over 200 of his British customers was reportedly passed to the NCA by Canadian authorities. While 88 of those individuals have died, the NCA says there is no confirmed link between items bought from the named websites and the cause of death in any of the cases.
Meanwhile police in Ontario are urging anyone with information about an incident or who has received a package that they suspect may contain sodium nitrite, should contact 1-888-714-0003 or email 11Divproject@peelpolice.ca.
