First degree murder charge laid in death of infant in Vaughan

VAUGHAN: York police have charged a person with ‘First Degree Murder’ in the death of an infant in Vaughan.

On Thursday, January 4 at 6:10 p.m. police received an injured person call at a residence in the area of Centre Street and Dufferin Street. When officers arrived on scene, they located an unresponsive infant in the home. The infant was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

There are no outstanding suspects, according to a media release from York police.

Police are not releasing further details of the infant or the person arrested at this time.
