Toronto (Jan 24) The national weather service has issued a statement warning that “near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring” across the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area.
Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton and Toronto are included in this fog advisory.
The weather service said dense fog patches continue this afternoon, although many areas are reporting improved visibility due to rain passing through.
“Visibility is expected to deteriorate again tonight after the rain departs,” the statement warned adding that it “may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero”.
“If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop,” Environment Canada advised motorists.
