Dogs attack 13-year-old boy in Mississauga, owner arrested

A woman has been charged after a dog bit a 13-year-old child in Mississauga this weekend.

Peel police say on Sunday, November 12, at 2:14 p.m., officers received a call that two large dogs were off-leash and actively attacking a young boy outside a residential building in the area of Rathburn Road East and Central Parkway East in Mississauga.

The boy was transported to a trauma centre and is currently listed in stable condition.

Police located the owner of the dogs and subsequently arrested her. The 37-year-old woman from Mississauga is charged with criminal negligence cause bodily harm. She will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing and witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident is asked to contact investigators with the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453–2121, extension 1233.
