Toronto (Feb 9) – Police are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying two dogs and their owner after a woman was viciously attacked two days ago.

On Wednesday, February 7 at 8:39 p.m., police were called for an animal complaint in the Martin Grove Road and John Garland Boulevard area.

According to a police report, a woman was waiting at a bus stop when two dogs approached her without leashes or owner present. The dogs started attacking the woman who tried to defend herself with a personal shopping cart. The dogs then dragged the woman to the ground and continued attacking her. She was able to seek refuge in a passer-by’s vehicle. The woman was taken to hospital with serious, life-altering, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Another passer-by followed the dogs and saw the dogs attack a cyclist, and attempt to attack a resident in his yard and a TTC Wheel-trans operator who was able to close the doors in time

Both dogs are described as black and white in colour with larger builds, possibly Pit Bull Terriers or a similar breed.

Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the dogs and their owner as there is a concern for public safety.
