The 57th annual Cavalcade of Lights will illuminate Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square from tomorrow till Sunday, January 7.
The official lighting ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m., followed by a joyous opening night celebration with free entertainment, live performances and art installations representing more than 15 communities and cultures.
Inspired by international lantern, fire and light festivals and winter solstice celebrations, the beautiful installations promise to transform Nathan Phillips Square into a winter wonderland and herald the magic of the holiday season.
Highlights include a performance by the Toronto Chinese Orchestra, skating showcase featuring Olympian and two-time National Champion Madeline Schizas, a fire performance, folk and western street dance by a crew from Taiwan.
