Brampton is inviting newcomers to get to know their city via a free guided bus tour scheduled on two days this month.

The free summer Newcomer Bus Tour for residents who moved to Brampton after January 1, 2020, will make stops at Cassie Campbell Community Centre, The Rose Brampton theatre, Chinguacousy Park, and Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA), and includes a bike safety demonstration.

Tour dates and times are Tuesday, August 15, from 10 am to 1 pm, and Thursday, August 17 from 6 to 9 pm. Both tours depart from Brampton Library’s Springdale branch at 10705 Bramalea Road. Residents can register online at bramptonlibrary.ca or by phoning 905-793-4636.

“The City of Brampton is excited to partner again with Brampton Library to provide a Newcomer Bus Tour for residents who have moved to our community since 2020,” Mayor Patrick Brown said in a statement. “Brampton is home to a diverse, multicultural, young, and fast growing population. These tours provide a wonderful opportunity to introduce new Bramptonians to the municipal offerings available for them that serve to improve their quality of life.”

The Newcomer Bus Tour has been recognized with the Angus Mowat Award for Excellence in Public Library Service, the American Public Library Association Upstart Innovation Award, and an award from The Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA).
