BMP jawan lynched over property dispute in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur

A Bihar Military Police (BMP) jawan was lynched by his relative over property dispute in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Vipendra Kumar Singh.

Singh, who was deployed in Patna BMP 14 battalion, went to his native village Dharampur under Kanti police station on leave, but was lynched.

Singh was said to be having property dispute with his uncle.

Following the incident, angry villagers put Singh’s body on Motipur-Muzaffarpur main state highway at Chapra Kali temple and blocked the road.

The district police, led by Muzaffarpur (West) DSP Abhishek Anand, reached the spot and ensured action against the accused.

Following his assurance, the protesters handed over the body to police.

“We have registered an FIR against the accused under the relevant sections of IPC. The investigation is underway. The accused involved in his murder will be arrested soon. The body has been sent for post-mortem,” Anand said.

The official said that Singh had a dispute with his uncle, who accompanied by his accomplices, reached his home and brutally assaulted him until he died.
