5 Mississauga youths arrested following armed carjacking in Brampton

Mississauga (Jan 30) – Peel police have charged five youth in relation to an armed carjacking robbery at a Brampton commercial plaza last week.

On Friday, January 26 at around 10:30 pm, the victim was in his vehicle, a 2023 Dodge Charger, in a Brampton commercial plaza, near Vodden Street East and Kennedy Road North. He was approached by two suspects, one of whom had a handgun, the suspects forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle and fled the area in the victim’s vehicle. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries

Police later located the occupied stolen vehicle in Mississauga and arrested five young persons. An imitation firearm was also recovered.

Two young men from Mississauga, ages 15 and 16, have been charged with several criminal code offences including robbery with firearm and failure to comply with release order. They were both held for bail hearings.

Three young women from Mississauga, a 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds, have been charged possession of property obtained by crime. They were released on an undertaking.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
