Several arrested for break-in at Oakville Ford plant, 12 stolen vehicles recovered

Oakville (Jan 23) – Halton police announced multiple arrests related to vehicles being stolen from the Ford Motor Company plant in Oakville around two weeks ago.

Overnight on January 7 to 8, 2024, a break and enter occurred at the plant located at 1 Canadian Road. Police said that thieves cut a large hole in the exterior fence surrounding the property and stole 14 brand new Ford Edge vehicles valued at approximately $630,000. Investigators located the vehicles at various locations in the Greater Toronto Area. In partnership with neighbouring police services, 12 of the 14 vehicles were recovered.

Police has also arrested five people in relation this investigation.

On January 9, Tom Thibault-Levesque, (35) of NFA, and Barbara Veronica Rachwal, (36) of Mississauga, were arrested in Mississauga. A day later, on January 10, James Park (34) of Bowmanville, and Kamorey Mitchell, (33) of Brampton, were arrested in Scarborough. The fifth person arrested in relation to this investigation is Joseph Wells (42) of Rockwood. He was arrested last week, on January 17.

Other arrests in relation to this investigation have been made by neighbouring police services however no charges have been laid in relation to the initial break-in to the Ford plant and this investigation remains ongoing, according to a statement from Halton police.
