Mississauga man shot dead during rush hour, police looking for 2 male suspects

MISSISSAUGA: A Mississauga man has died after being shot during rush hour yesterday and police are asking anyone with information about the homicide to come forward.

Police say that on Wednesday, January 3 just after 5:00 p.m., they received a 911 call advising of gunshots in the area of Battleford Road and Glen Erin Drive in Mississauga. Peel Police and Emergency Services responded and located a male suffering from gunshot wounds. This male was transported to a local trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The male has been identified as Mississauga resident Shawn Murphy (26yrs).

Investigation to date has revealed that this shooting occurred on the roadway on Battleford Road east of Glen Erin Drive during the rush hour period, police said in a news release. Two suspects, described as males, were seen fleeing the area on foot.
