Halton police are investigating a ‘suspicious’ fire in a residential neighbourhood in Burlington that destroyed three homes. This is the second fire incident at the same location.
On Monday December 4, at around 4:15 am, police were called to an address on Lodi Road in Burlington. This residential neighbourhood, located near the intersection of Dundas Street and Walkers Line in northeast Burlington, contains a mix of occupied homes as well as unoccupied homes that are currently under construction.
No injuries were sustained, however police said that the fire destroyed three unoccupied homes on Lodi Road and is considered to be suspicious. Two additional homes were also damaged (including one occupied home).
The fire is now being investigated by the Halton police Criminal Investigations Bureau along with the office of the Fire Marshal.
Police said they responded to the same address on Lodi Road for a fire on Saturday, December 2, which caused minor damage. That fire is also suspicious.
Investigators are asking witnesses to come forward, along with anyone who observed suspicious activity, or who has dash cam footage of the area of Walkers Line and Dundas Street, or near the GO stop/ 407 Carpool lot just west of that intersection.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
