U.S. manufacturer Kimberly-Clark has announced that its Kleenex facial tissue business will be leaving Canada.
The difficult decision was prompted by supply constraints and “unique complexities” faced by the brand, according to the company’s Canadian vice-president and general manager Todd Fisher.
“Thank you so much for your loyalty to our Kleenex ® brand facial tissues for the past few decades,” the company stated in a note posted on its website.
“We appreciate you allowing us in your households and want you to know how difficult it was for us to end our sales in Canada,” the brief statement added.
However several other Kimberly-Clark products including Kleenex hand towels will still be available in Canada.
“We look forward to continuing to provide you better care through our Kleenex® brand hand towels, and other Kimberly-Clark brands including Cottonelle®, U by Kotex®, Poise®, Depend® , Huggies®, Pull-Ups® and Goodnites®,” the statement said.
