Brampton Library officially reopened its Chinguacousy branch in its new location, the Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park Ski Chalet, on August 22 at 10 a.m, just three weeks after closing this branch in the Civic Centre on August 1, 2023, to make way for Toronto Metropolitan University’s new School of Medicine.

The new address is 9050 Bramalea Road, in the south-west corner of Central Park Drive and Bramalea Road. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

“We are thrilled to be able to serve the community for the coming period from our new location in Chinguacousy Park,” said Brampton Library CEO Todd Kyle. “We invite you to come connect with ‘literacy, learning, and your community!”

The Ski Chalet was chosen because of its proximity to the former location in the Bramalea neighbourhood. It is modern and airy and will offer most of the same services on a smaller scale, including a selection of books and other materials, computer access, study space, various programs, and makerspace services.

The Library says is working effectively with the City of Brampton to find a future permanent home to serve this community.
