50-year-old man found dead in Vaughan home, police appeal for information

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are seeking witnesses, video footage and any information following the death of a 50-year-old man in his Vaughan residence.

On Friday, September 1, at 2:25 p.m., police responded to a call for an injured person at a residential address on Laskin Drive near Ilan Ramon Boulevard. Attending officers found a deceased male resident inside the house. The death is being investigated as a homicide.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh “Rick” JOSHI, 50, of Vaughan. There is no suspect information at this time.

Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance. Any witnesses, or anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage of the area who have not yet spoken with police, are urged to come forward as soon as possible.
