Peel police have arrested and charged 43-year-old Jagrutiben Bhatt, from Brampton, in relation to sex trafficking offences.
In a news release police said that on September 14, officers commenced an investigation against Jagrutiben in relation to her controlling two female victims in the sex trade within the Region of Peel.
Jagrutiben has been charged with multiple criminal offences including Human Trafficking and Material Benefit from Sexual Services. She was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Investigators from the SEB Vice Unit believe there may be more victims of human trafficking and sex trafficking related offences.
