Halton police have arrested four South Asians in relation to a stolen vehicle investigation in Oakville.

On September 12, at around 4:20 am, police were called to the South Oakville Chrysler dealership located at 174 Wyecroft Road as a group of suspects were observed to be attempting to steal a blue Dodge Ram. The suspects had arrived in a black Dodge Ram that was later determined to have been stolen from Mississauga on September 11, investigators said in a news release

Responding officers observed the black Ram in the area and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop for police and fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ultimately lost control and hit a guard rail on the QEW westbound in the area of Bronte Road.

The three occupants of the vehicle — Aashish Sharma (31) of Mississauga, Jennifer Singh (30) of Toronto and Rajpal Sran (37) of no fixed address — were arrested at that time. Minutes later, at around 4:30 am, officers received information that another suspect was still at the Chrysler dealership. They returned to the dealership, located and arrested the fourth suspect, Himanshu Yadav (25) of Etobicoke.

All four suspects were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
