Mississauga (Feb 27) Two adults and one young person have been charged in connection with a home invasion robbery in Brampton last November.

Peel police said that in the early morning hours of November 28, 2023, four suspects forced their way into a home near McLaughlin Road and Queen Street in Brampton. Wearing disguises to conceal their identities, the suspects made demands for property and money. Fortunately, none of the victims involved in this incident suffered any physical injuries.

Following a lengthy investigation, three suspects have been identified and arrested. Search warrants were also executed at three residences where property related to the robbery was located.

Nanayaw Kwarten (21) and Mark Obohat (19) both from Mississauga face multiple charges including robbery.

The third individual, a 14-year-old young person from Mississauga has also been charged. A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.

All suspects appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for bail hearings on February 23.

This investigation remains ongoing, and police anticipate more charges could be laid.
